We recognise the role we play in the local community, and the importance of supporting local charities, such as King's Arms Trust in Bedford, Keech Hospice Care in Bedfordshire, St John’s Hospice at Moggerhanger, the MS Therapy Centre in Bedfordshire, the Alzheimer’s Society of Bedford, the Bedford Daycare Hospice, the Headway Charity, Bedford Open Door and the Bedford Hospital Challenge Cancer appeal.
For the last few years we have supported the ‘Wear it Pink’ day in aid of breast cancer support and ‘Wear it Red’ day in support of the British Heart Foundation. At Christmas we choose to make a donation to charity rather than send Christmas Cards. We also participate in the ‘Christmas Jumper Day’ in aid of Save the Children.
Throughout the year we take part in a number of charity fundraising events. Some of our staff and partners hiked over 20 miles around Glyders Loop in Wales as part of the LawNet Challenge and raised £2,730 in aid of the Bedford Hospital Charity. We hosted our Charity Golf Day at Pavenham Golf Club in aid of Bedford Open Door Charity, raising a total just over £2,000.00. A few member of our staff participated in the Bedford Legal Walk and raised £290.00 in aid of free legal advice charities across Bedford.
We understand our collective responsibility towards the environment, and we aim to minimise our carbon emissions. All of our non-confidential waste is recycled where possible, and we use recycled paper whenever appropriate. Electronic versions of forms are used whenever possible to minimise paper consumption.
