Corporate Responsibility
We recognise the role we play in the local community and the importance of supporting local charities. Last year, we participated in the LawNet Challenge to climb the Yorkshire 3 Peaks in aid of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and raised over £1,000. At the Sharmans Charity Golf Day 2018, over £2,000 was raised in aid of the Road Victims Trust.
This year’s Charity Golf Day was in aid of Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice at Moggerhanger and £2,384 was raised.
We also regularly take part in events such as the Bedford Legal Walk to raise money for free legal advice charities across East England and other annual fundraising opportunities such as Wear it Pink day in aid of Breast Cancer Now, Wear it Red day in aid of the British Heart Foundation and Cupcake day in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.
For Christmas, we participate in Christmas Jumper Day in aid of Save the Children and other charities. We also choose to make a donation to charity rather than send Christmas Cards.
We understand our collective responsibility towards the environment, and we aim to minimise our carbon emissions. All of our non-confidential waste is recycled where possible, and we use recycled paper whenever appropriate. Electronic versions of forms are used whenever possible to minimise paper consumption.
