We are seeking a talented and experienced Company Commercial Solicitor to join our well-established and highly regarded firm based in Bedfordshire.

This is an excellent opportunity to lead and grow a dedicated team, working alongside our established Commercial Property department. You will have the autonomy to develop the department’s strategy, cultivate client relationships, and drive business growth while maintaining a hands-on approach to complex commercial matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Company Commercial team, providing strategic guidance and support.
  • Advise corporate clients on a broad range of matters, including:
    • Mergers and acquisitions
    • Shareholder agreements
    • Commercial contracts
    • Intellectual property
    • Compliance and risk management
  • Contribute to business development and the firm’s continued growth.

Dispute Resolution Lawyer (5+ PQE)

We’re looking for a talented and ambitious Dispute Resolution Lawyer with 5+ years PQE to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their career with a firm that combines high-quality work with a genuinely supportive culture.

What you'll be doing

You’ll manage a varied and stimulating caseload across a broad range of civil and commercial disputes. While experience in property-related litigation is welcomed, this role is far from limited to it. You’ll advise and act in matters such as contractual disputes, landlord and tenant issues (including under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954), lease renewals, forfeiture, dilapidations, service charge and rent disputes, easements, rights of way, boundary and covenant disputes, debt recovery, shareholder and partnership disputes, professional negligence claims, commercial agency disputes, breach of director duties, breach of warranty and indemnity claims, injunctive relief and urgent interim applications and misrepresentation and fraud-related claims.

You’ll work closely with the head of department and experienced colleagues who value collaboration, client service, and shared success. Autonomy is encouraged, but so is support—your development matters to us.

What we're looking for

We are seeking a solicitor with 5+ years PQE in dispute resolution who has solid experience in managing a broad litigation caseload. Strong technical and procedural knowledge is essential, alongside excellent communication skills, commercial awareness, and a client-first approach. You should be a team player with initiative and a genuine interest in building long-term client relationships.

Every year, Sharmans offer a limited number of work experience opportunities, which take place during the summer months and are strictly limited to one week's duration.

Applications, including an up to date CV are accepted from mid-March to mid-April, after which, all applications received are appraised and the successful candidates selected and notified as soon as possible thereafter.
